This shrubby salvia forms a bushy plant to 75cm high and is evergreen, if not cut back by extreme frost, with aromatic glossy deep green leaves. Large rich glowing-red flowers with purple-black calyces and stems appear over a long period from late spring to autumn. Prefers well-drained soil and full sun. Hardy to -10c, so only needs winter protection in the hardest winters qnd most exposed areas.
