A recent introduction, 2009, this is a strong, clump-forming perennial with broad, arching deep burgundy black leaves with a glossy sheen.  One of the darkest phormiums bred, with a robust and compact habit. Fully hardy. Full sun in a fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
