Sun Bromeliad.

A pineapple relative. It has tooth-edged narrow leaves. From late summer these leaves trun bright scarlet and a cushion studded with small powder-blue flowers is pushed up from the centre. It is easily grown in full sun or part shade in most kinds of soil, as long as it is well-drained, expanding to form a dense ground covering mound.
