Fully hardy, upright perennial salvia. Stems bear large, toothed, wavy-margined, wrinkled, ovate, pea-green leaves, with prominent veins. Leaves have a bronze tint when young. In summer branched spikes bear violet-blue flowers with a contrasting white lip. The flower calyces are a dark brownish-red. Prefers well-drained soil, and full sun.
